5. Introduction
HoneyMonitor can connect to local or remote servers through normal or SSH connections. This chapter describes how to connect to MySQL
TM and how to manage connections in HoneyMonitor.
New Connection
To create a new MySQL
TM connection:
- when starting HoneyMonitor, the Connection Window is opened so you can create a new connection by filling the required fields (sec. 6);
- after the first connection, you may register as many server as you want; to create a new connection, open the Connection Form:
- by clicking on Server / New Connection menu;
- by clicking on the New Connection button of the main HoneyMonitor's toolbar;
- right clicking on a ''host'' node of the ''Server Object List'' tree and choosing the New Connection item (cap. 16);
Use the Connection Window to set connection's parameters and options (sec. 6).
Editing a Stored Connection
To edit a Stored Connection:
- open the ''Server Object List'' (chap. 16);
- right click on the connection node and select the ''Edit Connection Options'' item from the popup menu;
- use the Connection Window (sec. 6) to edit the connection's parameters.
Dropping a Stored Connection
To drop a Stored Connection:
- open the ''Server Object List'' (chap. 16);
- right click on connection node and select the ''Remove Connection from List'' item from the popup menu;
- confirm the requested operation.
Connecting to a Stored Connection
To connect to a Stored Connection:
- when starting HoneyMonitor, the Connection Window is opened; stored connections are listed in the ''Stored Connection'' frame so you can choose which stored connection to use and then click on ''GO !'' button (sec. 6.1);
- after the first connection, you may connect to a stored connection:
- opening the ''Server Object List'' (chap. 16);
- double clicking on the connection name you want to connect to.
Disconnecting
To disconnect:
- open the ''Server Object List'' (cap. 16);
- right click on the connection name you want to disconnect to and select the ''Disconnect connection_name'' item from the popup menu.
Note: all opened connections will be automatically closed when closing HoneyMonitor.
